About the Costume Designer Position
We’re seeking a creative and talented Costume Designer to join our crew. As a Costume Designer, you’ll be responsible for conceptualizing and creating costumes for our team members.
The Costume Designer will work alongside producers, directors, and other key staff members to learn what’s needed for particular costumes. Through research and creative thinking, they’ll ensure costumes fit the character and set perfectly.
Costume Designer Responsibilities
- Work alongside producers and directors to understand wardrobe requirements
- Research as necessary for character costumes, including themes and time periods
- Prepare and present drafts of costume designs
- Modify costume design based on feedback until final approval
- Tailor garments through hand and machine sewing
- Participate in wardrobe fittings and dress rehearsals, making changes as necessary
- Work to stay within the costume budget
Costume Designer Requirements

- BA in costume design, fashion design, or similar field of study
- Strong portfolio of previous costume design work
- Excellent research and communication skills
- Deep knowledge of materials, textiles, and sewing practices
