About the Fashion Editor Position

Do you have a passion for fashion? Are you an excellent writer and editor? We’re looking for someone like you to join our team as a Fashion Editor. 

As a Fashion Editor, you’ll be overseeing all the steps that go into creating content for our high fashion publication. From planning stories with writers to presenting finished pieces to our editor-in-chief, you’ll have a hand in it all.

Fashion Editor Responsibilities

• Create and plan story ideas that highlight new and exciting fashion trends
• Maintain relationships with a variety of professionals in the industry, including fashion designers, models, and photographers, collaborating with them as needed
• Lead a team of fashion writers
• Edit and proofread team member articles, preparing them for publication
• Manage the layout of the [website/magazine/newspaper]
• Stay updated on the latest fashion trends
• Attend fashion shows as a representative of the publication
• Suggest new and trendy fashion products, ideas, and styles
• Supervise different projects and take on additional tasks as needed
  

Fashion Editor Requirements

• [3+] years experience as a Fashion Editor
• B.A. in journalism, fashion design, or similar field; M.A. preferred
• Portfolio of previous work
• Extensive knowledge of both current and previous fashion trends
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superb editing, copywriting, and proofreading skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
