Network Technician Job Description

About the Network Technician position

We are looking for a Network Technician who will organize network development and maintenance in our environment. You will design the network in ways that optimize its performance and reliability٫ ensuring the smooth operation of business.

You should be highly competent and possess great passion for technology. An analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills are also required.

Network Technician responsibilities are:

• Install and maintain well-functioning computer networks٫ connections and cabling
• Troubleshoot system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
• Explore LAN infrastructure and detect actual or potential problems
• Configure and maintain software٫ hardware and peripheral devices and run tests on a regular basis
• Analyze network performance and find ways of improvement
• Schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work
• Perform regular data backups to protect the organization’s information
• Provide support to other employees on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions

Network Technician requirements are:

• 2+ years' experience of working on a Network Technician or other relevant position
• Profound experience with LAN/WAN networks٫ TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
• Excellent knowledge of common software and hardware
• Excellent diagnostic٫ problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• BSc or BA degree in computer science٫ computer engineering or other relevant area; additional certifications such as CCENT or CCNA wll be a bonus
