Construction Estimator Job Description

About the Construction Estimator position

We are looking for a reliable Construction Estimator who will calculate possible costs and gains of construction projects٫ providing the company with accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning. Your duties will include collecting and analyzing data according to a series of useful variables.

You should be very comfortable with numbers and analytical activities. Besides٫ you should have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Construction Estimator responsibilities are:

• Collect and analyze the requirements of the project or program at hand
• Define metrics to produce valid estimates
• Supervise sites٫ warehouses and other venues and gather essential information from them
• Gather and analyze documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
• Work with project data٫ produce forecasts and perform risk analysis
• Create detailed reports or bids and submit them to appropriate parties
• Find advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes
• Maintain relationships with key vendors٫ subcontractors٫ architects and others

Construction Estimator requirements are:

• 2+ years' experience of working on a Construction Estimator or other similar position
• Significant experience of using research methodologies٫ data analysis and estimation metrics
• Good knowledge of accounting and project management concepts
• Good practical experience with software like Timberline or HCSS HeavyBid
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with great attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Good organizational skills and high reliability
• BSc or BA degree in engineering٫ construction science or other relevant area
• Additional qualification such as Certified Professional Estimator will be a bonus
