About the Public Relations Intern Position

Our team is seeking a creative and motivated student to join our PR department as a Public Relations Intern. As an intern with us, you’ll work alongside a talented team of PR professionals, assisting in the writing of media releases, monitoring social media, planning PR events, and more!

Public Relations Intern Responsibilities

  • Support the PR team by assisting with various administrative tasks
  • Work alongside PR staff members to implement the current PR strategy, providing feedback and giving input
  • Draft creative and engaging content for release through social media, newsletters, and press releases
  • Proofread and copyedit material as requested
  • Maintain company social media pages, responding to commenters through the company’s account
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, media contacts, vendors, and all other relevant parties
  • Update media contact database as needed
  • Assist the department in planning and scheduling events
  • Research the current market, analyzing competition while staying aware of PR trends

Public Relations Intern Requirements

  • Must be currently attending university at either the undergrad or graduate level and enrolled in public relations, communications, journalism, or a similar field of study
  • Must have an understanding of PR best principles and an interest in PR
  • Strong knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn, and social media management programs
  • Applicable copywriting and editing skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present in front of large groups
  • Superb organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to work some nights and weekends when needed
